Gift Card Specialist - Payments

The Gift Card Specialist will support and assist with day-to-day planning and operations of the JCPenney Gift Card business, including card production and inventory; card assortment, allocation by location and distribution logistics. The Gift Card Specialist will also serve as day to day point of contact for many gift card vendor relationships, and support Gift Card contract compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Gift Card Planning & Allocation
    • Track Gift Card inventory and sales (loads and redemptions); produce purchase and usage trend analysis by SKU
    • Forecast gift card demand and execute ordering of sufficient gift card inventory for all store, warehouse locations, and third-party distribution partners (as appropriate)
    • Work closely with Visual Merchandising and Store Operations on physical in-store displays, signage, and planagrams
    • Work closely with Flagship store and marketing around on-line marketing / sales execution
  • Gift Card Production logistics
    • Oversee all production logistics and manage inventory by SKU and by vintage
    • Set up new cards in all required systems and Q/A testing of new cards
    • Work with Marketing Creative Teams on physical and e-card designs, and with e-gift card vendor and Digital teams on champion/challenger e-gift card testing
  • Vendor Management & Contract Compliance
    • Responsible for day-to-day relationship with many gift card vendors including to include (but not limited to: Certegy (Stored Value Solutions), BlackHawk/BlackHawk Alliance, CashStar, FirstData/Value Link; Marketing Innovators,InComm, etc.
    • Support negoation of Gift Card vendor contracts and ensure subsequent JCPenney compliance with said contracts
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A partners, Payment Operations, Procurement, and Shared Services Accounting teams to ensure:
    • Production and distribution of weekly Gift Card sales, redemption reporting and cost of tender analysis
    • Monitoring and escalation of any issues related to Gift Card authorizations, reconciliation fulfillment, , fees/commission accuracy, and production orders/ PO Creation

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Reporting and analytical skills and experience
  • Strong project coordination, organizational skills, attention to detail, collaboration, and good follow through
  • Ability to present and communicate to various leaders and business units; office or corporate experience preferred
  • Work experience in gift cards or possess a retail planning and allocation background preferred
