Corporate Testing & Analytics Sr Manager - Finance

The Corporate Testing & Analytics Sr Manager is responsible for leading the enterprise testing and analytics team which conducts rigorous modeling and assessment of real-world scenarios for driving top-line sales and bottom-line profit improvement for the Merchants, Store Operations, Marketing, Pricing.  This role requires critical thinking, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to influence senior executives as well as developing effective recommendations to influence decisions across all facets of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Owner Company Testing - leading the testing steering committee meetings and executive communication on testing
  • Expert resource on test design and interpreting test results
  • Oversee the work of the Corporate Testing and Analytics Team to ensure cross functional communication and consistent execution of tests
  • Review and analyze test results providing impartial / not vested in outcome / consistent results applying statistically valid test methodologies
  • Communicates APT results to decision-makers, sits on relevant project committees
  • Leads collaboration with pricing, store operations, merchandising and other teams within JCP
  • Shares responsibility of test validation, development, and dimensioning with Analysts supporting the Corporate Testing & Analytics Team
  • Manages testing calendar to highlight tradeoffs
  • Trains & develops Corporate Testing and Analytics Team and serves as Testing subject matter expert across the organization
  • Owns APT training and license allocation
  • Power user of APT (Applied Predictive Technologies Software) and APT Administrator

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Market Analysis or related field, MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in analytical roles within a retail environment
  • Proven experience in a leadership capacity and effectively managing people
  • Proven influence skills – ability to package and present analysis and recommendations to executives and in large groups and elicit support
  • Ability to establish credibility with senior leaders and functional experts
  • Proven quantitative and analytical skills
  • Sound, working knowledge of financial statements
  • High level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Business Intelligence tools (Applied Predictive Technologies/APT experience a plus)
  • Demonstrate high level of intellectual curiosity that translates into new approaches to business issues
  • Strong understanding of Corporate Sales planning and forecasting processes as well as strong detailed data analytics for both Stores and Ecommerce Channels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
