Account Manager - Wholesale

The Account Manager will report to the Sr Operations Manager, Business Development - Future Source. In this role you will manage international and domestic customer relationships thru the entire wholesale life cycle. You will work cross functionally with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Operations, and Accounting partners to deliver timely and thoughtful line presentations and manage monthly deliverables required to maintain and grow the wholesale business. Internal and external customer service will drive you while always keeping JCPenney’s best interest at the forefront.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with our customer base by providing excellent customer service with timely communication, follow up and resolutions
  • Develop understanding of brand direction by partnering with Design and Product Development teams to influence buying decisions
  • Follow brand calendars to drive monthly customer meetings and other deliverables
  • Drive virtual or in person sales meetings with external customers
  • Communicate due dates, assortment details, and any other communication needs with external customers
  • Create and deliver various PowerPoint presentations
  • Build cost sheets, buy sheets, packing list, invoices, and financial reporting (P&L statement) in Excel
  • Communicate via email with International Buying Offices (IBO) to place orders, manage delays and any other daily communication

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience required
  • 2+ years related sales, wholesaling, purchasing, buying, merchandising, sourcing, or product development experience
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • Knowledge or experience in sourcing, supply chain and retail life cycle preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail to ensure successful execution of customer orders
  • Self-starter that can perform in a demanding environment while juggling multiple competing priorities
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Must be proficient with MS Office including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Understand the need for processes, but adapt easily to change
