Business Strategy Sr Manager

The Business Strategy Sr Manager will support the VP of Business Development and be a strategic partner focusing on holistic initiatives with key cross-functional teams and external partnerships developing and implementing strategies that satisfy the objectives of individual departments as well as promoting overall corporate goals including strong ROI measures, driving profitable sales, and market share growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic initiatives across channels and across all business units
  • Evaluate and identify critical market and consumer insights to assess strategic growth initiatives, pioneering ideas across the total corporation
  • Act as a liaison between NPD and JCPenney to analyze market share and utilize it to identify opportunities across the total company and drive strategies that take specific actions
  • Partner cross functionally with multiple teams marketing, store environment, inclusive of team members in the Bangalore office on producing and maintaining quarterly market share and customer reporting, ad hoc reporting requests, and merchandising team needs
  • Work with sense of urgency to create compelling presentations for executive and team leaders through pitch decks and strategic storytelling 
  • Ensure all timelines and key deliverables are met
  • Follow retail industry trends, news, publications, and more to help drive insights and strategies  
  • Support the total business development team (Future Source, Commercial, Partnerships) and closely collaborate cross functionally

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8-10 years of experience in retail industry and merchandising
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate concisely and bring information/teams together with speed and efficiency
  • Experience and knowledge working with large volume retail inclusive of; multi-channel experience preferred
  • Strong project management and execution skills with ability to manage a high-level of detail
  • Builds strong relationships across business units and works well cross functionally
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to make informed decisions and strategies
  • Strategic thinker and continuous learner, is positive with a growth mindset, drives change with a “can do” attitude, is results-minded and action-oriented
