Manager of Taxonomy and Attributes

JCPenney is seeking a Manager of Taxonomy and Attributes within our Digital Optimization team. This team member will own and drive our company’s strategy and implementation to take our eCommerce Taxonomy and Attribution to the forefront of our customer’s digital shopping experience. In doing so, the candidate will partner with Product and Engineering teams, Analytics teams, and cross functional Business teams to define how our items are best delivered through external search, internal search, and browse / navigation. Key to this role’s success, the candidate will have deep experience partnering with Google and like Agencies to understand, apply, and continuously evolve customer digital shopping behaviors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define strategy and structure for future Taxonomy / Attribution model
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to implement Taxonomy / Attribution model
  • Leverage Web Analytics, Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) and Net Promoter Score (NPS) to action and improve digital customer shopping experience
  • Partner with Google and other 3rd party Agencies to optimize customer’s digital experience
  • Maintain and develop the Taxonomy / Attribution model via deep analysis of customer trends and customer search patterns
  • Responsible for defining business logic that supports Taxonomy / Attribution model automation
  • Challenge status quo and introduce constructive friction to past thought
  • Build deep bench of knowledgeable Taxonomy / Attribution SMEs
  • Identify testing opportunities and partner with A/B Test Team execute and analyze
  • Partner with Analytics teams to develop and right-size initiative report outs

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • 5-7  years of experience in eCommerce Taxonomy, Attribution, and/or customer experience optimization
  • Proven interpretation and application of digital customer trends via Google Analytics or like tools
  • Experience delivering optimized Taxonomy and Attribution models across digital channels (Site, App, Mobile, Tablet)
  • Experience partnering with Google teams to optimize customer capture, conversion, and retention
  • Experience working in matrixed environments across eCommerce, core IT, and Business teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong people interaction, facilitation, and negotiation skills
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree required
