 Consumer Insights Specialist

The Consumer Insights Specialist supports the primary research team by performing research and project management tasks necessary to plan, execute and report research. Insights produced by this team inform business decisions in Product Development, Merchandising, Marketing and beyond, including decisions by senior executive leaders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists with quantitative and qualitative primary research studies from start-to-finish (including project scoping, fostering research vendor relationships and project management) and presents results internally
  • Quickly identifies any issues/problems and escalates them appropriately to execute plan to resolve
  • Analyzes primary research results to foster insights and strategic guidance
  • Learns by leveraging experience and past analysis to draw research conclusionsâ€<
  • Identifies and synthesizes information and data (with an emphasis on competitive and shopper insights) from a variety of secondary sources (e.g., publications, subscriptions, Internet)

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • BS/BA degree in marketing, business administration, behavioral/social sciences, theory of consumer behavior, psychology, research methodology or a quantitative discipline. MBA/MS a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience in Market Research; previous work experience within retail industry, apparel industry or strategy consulting
  • Displays a general understanding of various research methods (quantitative and qualitative) and how they can be used to address business questions
  • Communicates with clarity and confidence
  • Manages a variety of projects simultaneously and produces high-quality deliverables under tight timelines in a dynamic unstructured environment with supervision
