VP Creative & Brand Synergy

The VP Creative & Brand Synergy leads the creative advertising development and execution across all customer touch points in support of the company vision and marketing strategies and objectives. This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and works closely with other senior marketing leadership to accomplish overall marketing goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads internal and external teams including in house creative services and agency of record partners in the strategic development of Omni channel brand and promotional creative executions across customer touch points. 
  • Contributes to and supports overall content and marketing strategy as a member of the marketing senior leadership team.
  • Establishes the JCPenney voice and visual brand footprint in collaboration with agency partners and marketing leadership.
  • Ensures consistency of brand messaging and look and feel to inspire customer, drive key value messaging and increase traffic to store and .com.
  • Leads, builds and inspires best in class retail creative team and direct reports.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising or related field.
  • 15+ years of executive creative leadership with responsibility for creative strategy, brand building, concept development, graphic design, photo and video art direction and copywriting across digital, social, broadcast and print.
  • Must have in house corporate experience; consumer facing retail, home and fashion experience highly preferred.
  • Previous experience overseeing large multimillion-dollar budgets with ability to plan and shift as needed to maximize resources.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and demonstrated experience working effectively across a large matrix organization with the ability to collaborate and influence.
  • Direct reporting management experience with successful track record of building, coaching and mentoring highly functional creative teams.
  • Nimble approach to thinking outside the box and suggesting progressive ways to accomplish creative marketing goals.
