Product Development Senior Specialist - Home

The Product Development Senior Specialist will support the Product Development team to ensure that the merchandise assortment strategy and product development process achieve the agreed upon Private Brand vision.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assists in the preparation of analytical reports of business performance and creates hindsight recaps.
• Supports the PD/Brand Sr. Manager and Director in establishing the seasonal calendar and scheduling all milestone meetings.
• Uses Flex PLM to enter packaging and labeling requirements in the product pack.
• Attends weekly Brand and Sourcing team meetings; assists as needed, including the preparation of weekly meeting agendas and recaps.
• Schedules and attends Market Recap meetings; identifies and orders outstanding post-market product samples
• Builds working relationships with all cross-functional team members involved in the creation and development of the Private Brand product assortment, including Design, Sourcing, Pre-Production, Technical Design, and Buying.
• Conducts assigned competitive shopping and compiles recaps.
• Supports the direct vendor process for private brands.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• 4-year College degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in retail buying or wholesale merchandising.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; can prioritize across multiple projects, while staying focused on bigger-picture business goals.
• Dynamic, high energy – a team player who will ‘roll up their sleeves’ as needed.
• High sense of urgency and initiative.
• Ability to solve problems and manage complex relationships.
• Strong awareness of trends, merchandising strategies, and product assortment mix.
• Basic understanding of retail math.
• PC and Microsoft Office proficient; highly skilled at Excel; Flex PLM experience is a plus.
