The JCPenney Digital Analytics team is looking for a results-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to own defining, building, and scaling metrics and analytical insights that will measure success and drive actionable business intelligence for Digital Merchants and leadership. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will build self-service reports and establish automated processes for large scale data analyses. Successful candidates will be analytical with business acumen, and detail driven with excellent problem solving skills. 
 
The ideal candidate will have a background in data analysis, including experience in Adobe and producing digestible business intelligence and actionable information. The candidate should also have good communication skill which enable them to work with stakeholders to understand requirements and shape analytical deliverables. This role requires attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong understanding of financial and productivity concepts, independence to work with minimal direction and ability to rapidly prototype dashboards and reports. 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities 

 

  • The ideal candidate must have a good understanding about data, working knowledge in  
    Adobe Analytics platform, and in building views and dashboards to answer business questions. 

  • Understand data sources to determine the correct source(s) and logic to ensure accurate, efficient and timely deliverables. 

  • Should be comfortable to work with large volumes of transactional data. 

  • Interface with US based Home Office Digital stakeholders to validate business requirements/requests for analysis and present intermediate and final analytical results. 

  • Determine best method to gather, model, manipulate and present data. Gather business requirements and translates business questions into requirements 

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable/automated/user-friendly reports to support ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. which drive key business decisions. 

  • Build stable and scalable solutions to extract data from diverse systems and transform extremely large data-sets into actionable business information, including visualization tools. 

  • Communicate to share knowledge and findings. Presents results in a manner that the business partners can understand, ensuring interpretation, appropriate detail and usability. 

  • Prioritize and balance multiple activities in parallel and communicate status proactively to manage stakeholder expectations. 

  • Ability to collaborate across teams to solve business problems. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 
 
Required: 

 
- Master degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or related technical field 
- 3-5 years of professional experience in business analytics, business intelligence (BI) or comparable retail analyst position handling large, complex data sets 

-Exposure to SQL in writing complex queries 

- Experience in multiple analytics tools such as: Adobe Analytics, SQL, Excel, R/Python, Tableau or equivalent technologies. 
- Creative problem solving, organization, attention to detail, flexibility and adaptability 

- Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy 
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) – English
