Senior Engineer - Corporate Systems

The Senior Engineer – Corporate Systems will report to Corporate Systems Leadership and will be part of the team that is responsible for Corporate and Merchandising Engineering. This entails: (1) Partnering with technical leads in strategizing, roadmap planning, selecting, architecting/designing, building and implementing technology solutions to solve complex business problems. (2) Actively managing the on-going health and supportability of the portfolio in alignment with IT Ops & Support, (3) Partnering with other IT and business teams to deliver end to end technology solutions for JCPenney. The team provides IT solutions to JCPenney Finance, Merchandising and HR systems area.  

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead, build and deliver projects with high impact and cross-portfolio scope, complexity and collaboration with cross-functional teams, both business and technology
• Play a key role in defining the future Technology architecture and develop roadmaps of the HR and Finance Systems
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to other engineers on the team
• Act as expert and point of contact in business/technology/domain area
• Partner and communicate cross-functionally across the enterprise
• Interact with business teams to gather, interpret and understand their business needs and create design specifications
• Capable to drive independently and recommend alternative solutions for critical issues that may arise in PeopleSoft and Oracle EBS System.
• Work with testing partners and cross-functional teams across different geographies  
• Partner with team to drive resolution and process improvements to further minimize impact to our production environment and support business partners. Document all key processes to further drive performance. 
• Work closely with the business partners, and team to develop and deliver technical solutions adhering to business requirements.
• Develops (design/code/configure) high quality software solutions.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• 6 + years of hands on development experience in PeopleSoft 9.0 or higher 
• Good Experience in Human Capital Management (HCM) module is a must. 
• Experience with Peoplesoft Modules like Recruitment/Self Service/Manager Self Service
• Experience with North American/Global Payroll is desirable 
• Excellent skills in People Tools 8.x or above
• Good knowledge and hands on experience in Application Engine / SQR / People Code
• 3+ years of hands on development experience with Oracle eBS(AP, GL, FA, PM/OTL, AR, iProcurement, iExpense)
• Excellent skills in writing complex SQL queries 
• Knowledge in Unix Scripting language will be an added advantage. 
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies 
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills 
• Finely tuned analytic and creative skills for problem solving and suggesting alternatives 
• Experience working in a global delivery model is a must 
• Action oriented and have the ability to drive the activities independently 
• Retail experience desirable but not required 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
