Lead Engineer - iOS - Digital Platform

Your main responsibilities will include developing native mobile applications including defining, designing, and implementing on iOS.  A key part of your responsibilities will include communicating with engineers on the Mobile team, as well as other parties like UI designers and product managers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Build new and innovative product features and apps
• Build prototypes
• Maintain high level performance quality
• Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems, mentor junior developers
• Collaborate with designers and engineers alike
• Write clean, stable, unit-tested code and accompanying documentation where needed

Candidates must:

• Have passion to design, build and polish great, simple, fun mobile applications
• Be driven to succeed & be self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision or hand-holding
• Be comfortable working independently and owning multiple product features from start to finish

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• 10+ years of experience in software programming
• 5+ years of iOS mobile application development
• 2+ year of development experience with Swift
• At least 2 published applications in the iTunes Store available for immediate download and review by our team
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Passionate about solving customer problems with innovative mobile solutions
• Strong knowledge of iOS SDK framework
• Strong knowledge of Swift, API integrations, and security
• Experience with Core Services, Media and Cocoa Touch frameworks, developer tools (Xcode), and workflows (both manual memory management and ARC, debugging, profiling, unit testing, continuous integration, provisioning, distributing and submission to the App Store)
• Working familiarity with iOS design patterns and coding conventions as well as Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and App Store Review Guidelines
• Expert understanding of networking, local data caching and multitasking on iOS
• Experience working in a team development environment
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Experience with task planning and estimating effort
• Appreciate great design and thrive in a creative environment
• Experience detecting and correcting memory usage issues as well as optimizing code for application performance
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and high reliability

Bonus points:

• Retail ecommerce experience
• Development experience with other mobile platforms (e.g. Android)
• Experience with Firebase tools
• Ability to develop REST APIs is a big plus
