Senior Director - Strategic Sourcing & Global Procurement

The Senior Director – Strategic Sourcing & Global Procurement will provide operational leadership and direct all procurement activities for non-resale (NFR) goods and services in support of enterprise-wide requirements on a global scale

Primary Responsibilities:

• Directs and leads all NFR procurement activities and resources, ensuring all processes and functions are performed efficiently and effectively to produce the best overall value for JCPenney
• Directs the development of corporate procurement strategies and provides direct departmental leadership toward effective and efficient execution of these strategies
• Ensures appropriate department financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to deliver results for the department and the Company
• Develops and publishes reporting of key metrics and analyses which track results and drive behavior across the organization
• Drives continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and cost savings through review of people, process, and technology
• Directs the development and ensures the execution of standards, controls, policies and procedures, and performance measurements designed to manage and operate effectively the activities of the department
• Coordinates with internal Company customers/clients to achieve their goals and objectives as effectively and efficiently as possible through the highest level of procurement expertise
• Develops and directs a dynamic supplier relationship program to balance needs of external partners with the quality and value expected by JCPenney. Stays informed on new trends in the procurement and retail industries for possible application at JCPenney
• Oversees on-going development and training efforts for all NFR Procurement associates to develop talent and create a strong bench for succession planning

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• Minimum 10 – 12 years experience in senior leadership roles, with a track record of results and demonstrated ability to drive change, develop talent, and deliver cost savings
• Record of accomplishments in leading people, innovation, decision-making, strategic thinking, communication, and process improvement
• Bachelor's degree in business-related field preferred. Master's degree in business and C.P.M (Certified Purchasing Manager) accreditation desirable
