Sourcing Specialist

The Sourcing Specialist will assist the production team in the placement and confirmation of all direct import buys, perform research for development of new resources, and assist in the resolution of quality and delivery issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists in managing the placement and confirmation of direct import buys. Communicates on a continual basis with Sourcing, buying and product development units, overseas offices and suppliers regarding all aspects/details of the buy and ensures all accurate information is provided.
  • Assists in managing the cost component worksheet. Communicates with the brand unit, overseas offices and suppliers to ensure all information is inputted correctly; runs a variety of reports as required by the sourcing manager/sourcing director
  • Collects data for the production process and shipping report. Assists in communication with the buying and brand units, sourcing manager, overseas offices and suppliers to provide prompt and accurate production information; assists in resolution of quality and delivery issues, including cancellations and cost concessions.
  • Monitors the filing system for outstanding buys and confirmation as well as the booking report and product package logs, supported by reports required by sourcing.
  • Assists in the designation and distribution of product packages to overseas offices to further develop an understanding of the supplier matrix as well as technical expertise of fabrications, garment construction and sourcing strategy.
  • Performs research and data gathering in the development of new resources, coordinates/attends meetings with suppliers, and reviews supplier factories and mills.
  • Work to build effective strategic relationships with cross-functional partners, internal stakeholders, external suppliers and teams to drive results and influence change
  • Manage internal and external teams time and action calendars to deliver IMU, quality and delivery goals
  • Maintain detailed product and cost information
  • Monitor quality and delivery performance matrix and implement improvement initiatives
  • Trouble Shoot and resolve production and delivery issues

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or comparable.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to build relationships cross-functionally
  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task successfully and prioritize while meeting critical deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
