Director, Loyalty

The JCPenney loyalty program is a critical aspect of the brand and the overall Marketing strategy for the company. The Director, Loyalty is a loyalty practitioner that will lead the strategy and development of JCPenney loyalty programs to drive incremental sales through relevant and targeted promotional approaches and CRM strategies. The Director will develop strategies to build customer engagement and deliver on Omni channel objectives. The role will require successful integration across a large organization including data analytics, IT and delivery teams as well as external partners and agencies. Position reports to VP Customer Engagement and Insights.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy and development of loyalty programs and sets clear approaches to Omni-channel loyalty member experience.
  • Own the full loyalty roadmap and multiple year strategic plans and the loyalty journey.
  • Drive new and dynamic initiatives to our existing base of customers while reaching out to new subscribers through creative marketing initiatives.
  • Provide a point of view on best-in-class marketing and loyalty programs, technologies, etc.
  • Set performance goals and define performance metrics for the Loyalty Team while ensuring alignment and support of enterprise goals.
  • Provide strategic direction for the JCP loyalty program as well as year-over-year guest retention while increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Leverage loyalty data capture to make the benefits increasingly personalized over time.
  • Partner with Marketing and Finance leaders to deliver effective loyalty strategies that will tie into JCPenney Credit programs and initiatives.
  • Define agile performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Marketing; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible marketing experience; strong marketing discipline and understanding of customer loyalty and rewards program strategy and development from a broad range of categories.
  • Expertise in Loyalty, 1:1 direct marketing, Omni channel approaches, CRM and customer insights.
  • Ability to apply a deep understanding of the insights, emotional and economical factors that drive loyalty.
  • Experience in digital media channels, email marketing and direct mail.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills to measure full cost and benefits of the loyalty program and ability to communicate upward.
  • Direct report management experience with demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor.
  • Expertise with Agile methodology and process
  • Proven ability to interface effectively and comfortably with C-Suite and associates at all levels of the organization utilizing leadership skills and the aptitude to work with and negotiate with other departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement programs through effective use of communication skills in formal and informal settings.
