SUMMARY

Working under general supervision and located at the Lenexa SSC / DLC, the Final Mile Manager is responsible for managing the Final Mile back office functions and Parcel Tracers and Claims activities for JCPenney. The individual will oversee the daily execution of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for furniture & bedding returns established with the Merchandise Action Team (MAT) and external carriers (CDAs). The principal business outcome of this position is to ensure timely return authorization processing for customer returns, oversight of flow back through 3rd party carrier to liquidator and timely financial receipt of transaction to liquidate. An associate in this position may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities will require a supervisor’s advanced approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

· Will be responsible for the development, training, and management of Final Mile associates

· Ensure JCP Final Mile back office functions remain in compliance to company policy, meet established SLA’s, and limit any financial responsibility of the functions for JCP

· Responsible for timely creation of return authorization for furniture orders cancelled by customers

· Identify and resolve opportunities for improved performance of furniture home delivery carriers

· Oversee proper liquidation of returns through CDA to 3rd party liquidation company

· Execute claims against CDA for shortage / damaged merchandise

· Direct other back off functions needed to support the financial book keeping of furniture inventory

· Identification and reconciliation of parcel claims

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

· 3 – 5 years’ experience in Transportation or Supply Chain, preferably in a similar role, within a carrier facing environment

· Prior experience managing a team of associates

· Hold a degree in Business, Economics, Logistics, or in a related field

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

· Proficient knowledge in Microsoft suite

· Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results

· A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data and processes

· Established ability to develop and mentor direct reports

· Continuous improvement mind set, including the ability to innovate and simplify legacy processes

· Ability to manage numerous business functions simultaneously and ensure compliance to company policies and financial guidelines
