Scrum Master

We are looking for a strong Scrum Master to join our Digital Customer Experience team working on jcp.com and Omni-channel initiatives. Reporting directly to the Group Manager, the Scrum Master will lead key projects through an Agile Software Development Life Cycle. They will be responsible for coordinating multiple project plans and assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate team’s progress toward team goals
  • Ensure scrum ceremonies occur consistently, efficiently and effectively
  • Participate in cross team activities such as Scrum of Scrums
  • Assist the Product Owner in managing the backlog and facilitating a healthy team dynamic when prioritizing and scoping
  • Leads teams’ efforts in pursuit of relentless improvement
  • Eliminates impediments

Critical Success Factors:

  • Experience Coaching and Mentoring team members on Agile practices.
  • Guiding the team on the effective use of Agile / Scrum practices.
  • Deep understanding of cultural touchstones underlying successful Agile teams
  • Successful history of working in a scaled Agile environment. Experience in SAFe a plus.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Demonstrable experience leading high-performance teams using Agile
  • History of successful resolution of external impediments that block team from achieving its goals
  • Ability to facilitate scrum ceremonies such as retrospective, demos, spring planning, and grooming sessions
  • Broad communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and influence all areas of the enterprise
  • Ability to track and effectively report team progress toward its goal
  • Past experience working with SAFe preferred
  • Past web development experience preferred
  • Experience managing projects in a fast paced retail industry is preferred
