Chief of Staff - Marketing

The Chief of Staff will support and assist, EVP - Chief Customer Officer in directing and coordinating enterprise projects across multiple departments. Supports the CCO by tracking key priorities and ensuring timely communication and coordination with key stakeholders. Alerts and aligns senior management on potential implementation challenges. Provides recommendations for project implementation and strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directs the timely coordination and planning of specific strategic initiatives to promote understanding and business execution.
  • Partners closely with key internal stakeholders on the development of the time and action calendar for specified projects and strategies(s).
  • Reviews progress on project or initiatives being sponsored by the CCO. Coordinates and identifies risks to meeting timeline and deliverables.
  • Works with cross-functional key partners to ensure execution of specific strategies and projects.
  • Keeps senior management apprised of implementation progress on designated initiatives.
  • Assess inquiries directed to the Chief Customer Officer, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual(s) to manage
  • Function as a proxy, information filter and facilitator for the Chief Customer Officer; handle as many issues as possible before they reach the CCO’s desk by representing the CCO’s point of view; make decisions, as needed, in the CCO’s absence
  • Uses exceptional organizational and people skills to handle all manner of tasks not covered by an existing member of the CCO’s leadership team

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • 10-15 years’ experience with progressively more responsible positions in Marketing, retail experience preferred.
  • Innovative thinker and a continuous learner with a growth mindset who can drive change while cultivating a positive and healthy culture
  • Ideal candidate must be a change agent, business partner with an acumen for turnarounds and the ability to build relationships across a business
  • Ability to work through challenging situations and move with speed, urgency and intensity; comfortable in a cost-conscious and fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization and planning skills are required; must possess high aptitude for critical thinking, financial acumen and teamwork/relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage knowledge and insights to make data driven and informed decisions in ambiguous situations at a rapid pace; has a high degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Innovative thinker and a continuous learner with a growth mindset who can drive change while cultivating a positive and healthy culture
  • Excellent communication skills; is positive with high energy, and a strong commitment to internal and external customer service
  • Proven ability to step in quickly to remove barriers, and resolve conflict or ambiguity
  • Results-minded and action-oriented; takes ownership; oversees implementation and jumps in to assist/dive in to the details whenever and wherever needed
  • Servant Leader; brings the team along with him/her; humble with a low ego and non-political; able to build strong, trusting relationships and work together productively with others
  • Demonstrated courage of conviction for his/her positions, while being intellectually agile, transparent, flexible and adaptable
  • Undergraduate degree is required, advanced degree preferred
