The Sr. Manager of Analytics Center of Excellence(ACOE) will play a pivotal role in JCPenney’s global technology team by building and running the Analytics team in Bangalore and helping to create a global working model in partnership with the Director of Analytics. Reporting to this leader will be individual contributors and team leaders in Bangalore.The ideal candidate will be influential with their peers and architects in delivering on the JCPenney Business Intelligence & Analytics Roadmap. 


Critical Primary Responsibilities: 


  • Lead Bangalore team that supports JCPenney Analytics solutioning in multiple business verticals 

  • Partners with US Based Analytics teams to deliver on JCPenney ACoE Roadmap 

  • Engage and partner with other analytics and BI teams as needed for successful project deliveries  

  • Manage 10 to 15 individual contributors directly 

  • Develop associates through goal setting, ongoing performance feedback, training and development plans, career path discussions and identification of project assignments to further develop skill sets  

  • Ensure process and quality standards are achieved within the team 

  • Serve as an escalation point for roadblocks slowing down or impeding delivery objectives 

  • Manage project financials, budget forecasts, and staffing plans for the Bangalore team 

  • Identify and champion internal / external best practices, tools, and ideas to drive constant growth and innovation within the JCP Analytics space 


Critical Skills & Experiences: 


  • 10yrs total relevant work experience and 3 to 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience in analytics and reporting, prefer at least 2 years in a USA-based Global Inhouse Center (GIC) 

  • Highly motivated and self-directing individual who has prior experience in large, complex enterprise BI&A solution sets 

  • Experience managing analytical teams 

  • Experience leading teams developing in Analytics solutions through Big Data/ Machine learning and AI preferred. 

  • Experience in retail desired 

  • Strong communication (oral and written), with an ability to convey complex results in an easy to understand manner 

  • Drives results and has strong accountability 

  • Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of industry trends, tools and techniques. 

  • Experience managing project financials, budget forecasts, and staffing plans 

  • Demonstrated leadership managing/leading a diverse team of people in a fast-paced environment  

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
