Specialist, Creative Project Management

The Specialist, Creative Project Management assists in the development and implementation of creative projects in support of JCPenney’s advertising efforts. The Project Management Specialist ensures consistent, on-time completion of projects by executing project plans, defining milestones, assigning resources, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including creative (art directors and copywriters), marketing, production, casting/styling, media, and omni-teams. Other duties include leading small projects and working on more complex projects with the support of Project Manager/ Senior Manager/ Director. Reports directly to Senior Manager, Creative Project Management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with the team to manage and lead projects, while maintaining documentation and relaying feedback and communicating with project stakeholders within and outside of the creative department such as marketing managers, media, merchants, social marketing, store visuals, and customer experience.
  • Executes and disseminates project plans and documents, including procedures, project briefs, and progress reports.
  • Actively participate in project work groups. Coordinates meetings whenever necessary, contributes to planning, coordination of project resources and communicates with project stakeholders to collect and disseminate project information.
  • Works with outside vendors to transfer/receive files and projects as needed.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Mass Communications or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of broadcast, print, social and/or digital campaign project management experience (video, radio, pre-print, direct mail, email, mobile, .com landing pages, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) from an ad agency or in-house creative services team.
  • Strong communication skills to a variety of stakeholders with the ability to deliver engaging, informative, well-organized information and provide status reports and progress updates as needed.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and able to multi-task. Must have a can-do attitude and be willing to help at all times.
  • Proficiency with Mac based programs and using MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Workfront or other project management tool (Basecamp, Asana, Wrike, etc.) experience required.
