Team Lead – Content Quality and Events & Brand Launch

Looking for a qualified team leader to manage our team and provide effective guidance. You will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis. Should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Crticial to lead by setting a good example and engage with team to achieve goals.  

The candidate will support the Sr. Manager of Content Quality and Events & Brand Launch by providing planning, execution, coordination and analysis to produce a successful launch of events and brands. 


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with stakeholders across multiple business teams to ensure alignment and accurate execution on digital strategy requests for jcpenney.com  

  • Identify dependencies across cross functional teams and proactively remove obstacles preventing a successful launch 

  • Create and communicate actionable insights to Ecommerce leadership and cross functional partners 

  • Help define and track KPIs to support strategic decision making 

  • Coordinate go-live timing of new brands and events based on campaign dates, inventory availability and marketing calendars. Manage major and complex event and product launches and priorities 

  • Incorporate brand/creative assets on website in ways that optimize digital marketing performance 

  • Drive collaborative environment acting as subject mater expert on assigned areas 

  • Support weekend and odd hour needs. 

People Management Skills: 

  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture 

  • Set clear team goals, delegate tasks and set deadlines 

  • Oversee day-to-day operations 

  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics 

  • Discover training needs and provide coaching 

  • Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts 

  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments 

  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking 

  • Suggest and organize team building activities 

Core requirements of the position: 

  • 7-9 years’ experience in Ecommerce or Retail 

  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment 

  • Independent yet communicative and team-oriented.  

  • Effective communication with strong interpersonal skills and ability to present point-of-view to various levels of organization 

  • Experience working in matrixed environments across eCommerce, business teams and core IT 

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills  

  • Proficient in web-based analytics tools 

  • Proficient in Content Management & Microsoft tools,  

  • Basic understanding of Website Management, Content Management & Creating Dashboards,  

  • Ability to work independently and reliably with minimal supervision in a non-traditional setting 

  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervison
