The Senior Manager – User Experience (UX) / Product Design is responsible for leading a team of UX Product Designers for enterprise product portfolio including individual performance management as well as management of business results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish the vision, goals, roadmap, priorities, and rollout plans for the global experimentation platform focused on improving testing insights and velocity.
  • Foster individual and team development to improve the UX practice for JCPenney.com
  • Manage performance of direct reports and ensure the quality of the team’s UX meets JCPenney standards
  • Build cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders critical to the delivery of the UX portfolio
  • Prioritize portfolio investment to maximize benefit/return to customers/company based on JCPenney strategy.
  • Sign off on UX Deliverables
  • Develop a test & learn culture.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to improve existing customer facing products.
  • Negotiate and resolve problems and escalate as required
  • Act as a customer evangelist to build awareness of design methodology and product scope across teams
  • Ensure the JCPenney.com customer experience and functionality is optimized
  • Foster individual and team development to improve the practice for JCPenney.com
  • Ability develop team culture and deepen leadership experience for members of the UX Organization
  • Champion a customer centric culture that rapidly analyses, tests, measures and iterates

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • 7+ Years of experience with 3+ years’ experience managing teams and direct reports in User Experience (UX) / Product Design
  • Retail ecommerce experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to translate stakeholders needs into clear research objectives.
  • Proven ability to self-motivate, work independently and produce tangible results
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to project manage well
  • Superior relationship building with cross-functional teams to deliver results through excellent partnership, communication and negotiating skills
  • Advanced proficiency in evaluating user interactions and identifying opportunities to improve the digital experiences
  • Ability to structure problems and use quantitative/qualitative skills to deliver simple, logical recommendations
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
