General Description

Analyst – Corporate Strategy 
 

As Analyst, you will leverage your technical skills, business acumen, and creativity to extract and analyze massive data sets and translate complex findings in a structured and clear manner to a non-technical audience. 

Position Summary: 

  • Experience of using different databases 

  • Technical knowledge in SQL (structured query language), Base SAS and/or Enterprise Guide(Macro preferred), MS excel (including VBA Macro),MS Power point. 

  • Excellent ability to combine, cleanse and harmonize data for descriptive and predictive analytics. 

  • Knowledge of big data analytics, R, Hive, Python is preferred. 

  • Desire to acquire new technical skills (e.g. R, Hive, Python, Datameer, Tableau) and business knowledge 

  • Strong problem-solving skills, Logical thinking, having high attention to detail 

  • Knowledge of retail, marketing, advertising, digital, and/or general business metrics 

  • Willingness and ability to work remotely with team/s situated in the US. 

  • Ability to work independently across multiple projects 

  • Desire to consistently meet stakeholder expectations 

Responsibilities: 

  • Understand and have a working knowledge of customer/transactional level data preferably in retail/consumer goods environment. 

  • Understand data sources to determine the correct source(s) and logic to ensure accurate, efficient and timely deliverables 

  • Build, run and automate data queries, analysis and reports 

  • Translate client needs requirements, Ad-hoc request into specific data, logic and reporting requirements and realistic work plans 

  • Understands and articulates (1) objective, (2) success criteria, (3) timing and (4) audience for tasks 

  • Strive to structure analysis to provide conclusive insights that directly align to decision-making 

  • Prioritize and balance multiple activities in parallel and communicate status proactively to manage stakeholder expectations 

  • Identify and log data issues and work with IT to understand and resolve them 

  • Speak out when business strategies do not align with data insights and when insights suggest new marketing, media, or business tactics 

  • Proactively seek help from and offer help to JCP teammates to accelerate skill development, business understanding and overall goal achievement 

  • Anticipate future insight needs/opportunities and deliver self-initiated value to JCP 

Qualifications: 

  • 3-6 years of Analytics and SAS experience 

  • Strong database experience with advanced SQL skills; experience researching and manipulating complex and large data sets (both distributed and non-distributed) 

  • Knowledge of Statistical Techniques and predictive analytics 

  • Hands on experience in building reporting Dashboard 

  • Understanding of eCommerce Pricing and Promotions, Price Elasticity 

  • Proficient in MS Excel & PowerPoint 

  • Bachelor's/Masters in Engineering/Statistics/Economics or equivalent practical experience
