The PreMedia Production Specialist should be passionate about the goals of JCPenney’s Creative Services Team. Seeking someone who can interact effectively with others and a good team player. Excellent project and time management skills, ability to prioritize work. Can manage multiple projects at a time, work efficiently under pressure and self-disciplined.

The role is responsible for set-up, preparing, fixing, submitting, and shipping assigned PreMedia work in a timely and accurate manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs production, prepress, and quality assurance duties including mechanical correctness, file clean up, image management, font and logo collection and PDF creation.  
  • Prepares files for release to printer as per production schedule and adheres to tight deadlines.
  • Performs file management, data back up and other routine clerical tasks for assigned events. 
  • Generate final color guides, position proofs, and ship to plants.
  • Participates in meetings and project team activities.
  • Participates in project work and perform other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or Advertising preferred. 
  • 3+ years of print production, prepress production experience from an in house creative services or agency. Retail industry experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of print production principles and technology/industry practices. 
  • Strong communication skills; ability to establish and maintain relationships with creative advertising team and production team.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and project manage under tight deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and strong visualization skills.
  • Self-disciplined.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to use available resources to solve issues.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and FileMaker and Microsoft Office for Mac.
  • Must be able to learn new technology, including new/updated software and hardware.
