The Business Analyst 2 will report to Sr. Manager – Customer Experience and will be part of the team that is responsible for Application portfolio management and development that focuses on building and configuring software solutions. This entails: (1) strategizing, roadmap planning, selecting, architecting/designing, building and implementing technology solutions to solve complex business problems.(2) portfolio management for entire business applications suite (3) actively managing the on-going health and supportability of the portfolio in alignment with IT Ops & Support, (4) managing the cost, contracts, and licensing associated with the portfolio, (5) partnering with other IT and business teams to deliver end to end technology solutions for JCPenney. The team provides IT solutions to JCP supply chain, customer care, and digital platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead analysis, requirement gathering, use case creation, scope management, process improvement, test case creation for medium to large size projects/programs through all phases of the SDLC.
  • Expert and point-of-contact in core business capabilities, processes, and applications for the
    Supply Chain portfolio.
  • Drive portfolio ownership by working with users to understand strategies and operations in order to develop technology capability roadmaps that are aligned with business/domain roadmaps.
  • Demonstrates breadth and depth of techniques and tools for one or many of the following: use case modeling, data modeling, E2E business process modeling, process mapping, E2E business scenarios.
  • Provides mentorship and coaching to junior staff.
  • Work with geographically diverse locations

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • 7+ years’ experience in business analysis (requirements gathering, creating requirements documents, creating use cases, and user stories) with increasing levels of responsibility
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in retail/wholesale and Supply Chain domain
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in Inventory Management, Logistics, WMS and Direct to Consumer (D2C)
  • Clear understanding of and experience with full software development life cycle. Understanding of prevalent IT methodologies, project management methodologies, management practices such as waterfall, agile and iterative
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; SharePoint, Visio and MS Project experience a strong plus
  • Creative problem solving, organization, attention to detail, flexibility and adaptability
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills; approachable, engaged and partnering style
  • Ability to understand end to end business processes and support business teams on the process
  • IIBA Certification a PLUS
