General Description

Specialist - Data Analytics 

JOB PURPOSE: 

This role will have expertise leveraging quantitative methods for driving predictive analytics, modeling and reporting. Additionally, this role will serve as a subject matter expert for data related projects and have an ability to extract key insights from complex data sets. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE: 

  • Data Analysis 

  • Shares responsibility for key deliverables, including reports and cross-team processes; exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results 

  • Develops reports based on business requests that are received through a common email box; meets turnaround back to the business within department guidelines 

  • Queries and mines large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examines data and filter for targeted information - using traditional as well as predictive/advanced analytic methodologies 

  • Ensures accurate and timely data analysis 

  • Communication 

  • Helps develop presentation materials with actionable recommendations on initiatives to influence leaders through data, analytics, and thoughtful interpretation of findings 

  • Participates in weekly status calls with the Home Office HR Systems team 

  • Efficiencies 

  • Helps develop solutions to streamline and automate report generation as needed. Continually reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing reports and dashboard and develop strategies for enhancement 

  • Partners with the Home Office HR Systems team to identify issues, form hypotheses, analyze data, and synthesize conclusions into recommendations. 

  • Helps influence highly complex decisions based on analytics 

  • Technical Skills 

  • Expert skills in Oracle SQL, OBIEE, Oracle Analytics, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Viso and Access. HRIS experience is a plus 

  • Experience with reporting tools, reporting software, and other reporting applications. 

  • Microsoft SharePoint or related data management program. Experience with predictive modeling and other statistical methods 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field Graduate training is desirable though not mandatory 

Experience 

  • 1-3 years’ experience in data analytics, reporting, data insights, or related field.
