Technical Architect - Full Stack

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Technical Architect to join our team. In this role, your main responsibilities will include E2E design & development of new systems/features for Customer Experience - FindMore and Point of Sale teams using agile best practices, leveraging Java and/or Microsoft .NET technologies, Spring Framework and relational databases along with JavaScript Frameworks such as ReactJS, Redux, Node and npm.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive the technical architecture of Stores Checkout that includes in Store items as well as .com ordering.
  • Drive technology roadmap of the Product and be comfortable handling conflicts amicably with Product when it comes to balancing technical backlog versus function features.
  • Lead the team’s technical direction by exploring and implementing the best in class technologies and advocate the use of best tools, libraries, and processes.
  • Work directly with other JCPenney IT associates as well as JCPenney business partners to define contracts, dependencies and communicate technical capabilities
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, DevOps, Front & Back-end developers to deliver best user experience.
  • Troubleshoot pre and post-production functional and non-functional issue
  • Stay up to date on the latest industry technology trends and techniques
  • Propose new ideas and best practices to improve performance and experience of the site
  • Continuously test your software to fail-fast and fail-forward to ensure the best user experience.
  • Communicate effectively with remote and distributed teams.
  • Take pride in owning what you build, support it in production and continuously monitor and evolve it to improve performance, scalability and ease-of-use.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Strong development experience in Java and/or .NET technologies, Spring Framework and relation databases (preferably PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Prior experience leading Product/Portfolio level architecture.
  • Prior experience with DevOps and Automation.
  • Work experience in Agile Scrum methodologies
  • Micro service architecture experience and knowledge of GIT for version control.
  • Experience building applications using Adaptive/Responsive Design Principles and leveraging various applications layers to enhance performance
  • Familiarity with Data Structures, Algorithms, and general Computer Science Fundamentals

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience with Java and/or .NET technologies and relation databases.
  • 5 plus years of experience with leading strong engineering teams.
