As a Finance Management Trainee for JCPenney, you’ll be part of the finance team at our Home Office in Plano, TX (just 20 minutes north of downtown Dallas). You’ll take part in a fast-paced 12-week training period which will consist of projects, activities, and hands-on training to facilitate your learning. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with senior leaders and other team members who will be mentoring and coaching you to success. After your training period, you will be assigned to a specific finance team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis designed to improve reporting for assigned business team(s)
  • Collect data through interviews, analysis and other research techniques to support the development, implementation and evaluation of departmental programs
  • Designs and/or assists in the design of communication material delivered to senior management, using high level Excel and PowerPoint skills

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Completion of a 4-year degree, preferably with a major in accounting, audit or finance
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Desire to move to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area
  • Advanced analytic, financial modeling, and reporting skills
  • Data analytics, communication, business knowledge, and relationship building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Microsoft Access knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with basic audit techniques and procedures
  • Results-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to collaborate and be a strong team member
  • This position is available only to individuals who are eligible to work for JCPenney in the United States. JCPenney will not sponsor individuals for immigration benefits for this role.
