Records Management Sr Specialist – Legal

The Records Retention Sr Specialist is responsible for assisting the development of a program for the control, retention, storage, retrieval, and disposal of Company records.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in the operation of on-site and off-site physical records storage process, make determinations and provide guidance on the proper transfer, storage, retention, and destruction of records in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of processes, procedures, and metrics related to the management of Company records.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the management of company records and information.
  • Assist in the development of communications, awareness, and education regarding records management.
  • Assist in coaching and training others in the lifecycle management of business records and information.
  • Provide support for the data privacy program by providing guidance and assistance to business stakeholders. 

Core Competencies:

  • Two (2) years related Records experience is desired.
  • Knowledge of records procedures and records retention principles and practices. Ability to follow consistent procedures, display an attention to detail in all work activities.
  • Understanding of  ethical and legal obligations that impact the storage, organization and transfer of data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to perform projects with tight and evolving deadlines.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of document management systems such as iManage. 
  • Ability to use Microsoft office applications Word, Excel, Power Point and SharePoint, and a willingness to learn and use new tools and technologies.
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • IGP or other records management certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
