Communications - HR Business Support Specialist – Human Resources

As a Communications- HR Business Support Specialist, you will report to the VP of Home Office HR and partner with the HR Business Partners supporting the Home Office in Plano, TX (20 minutes north of downtown Dallas). You will have exposure and visibility from key HR leaders at JCPenney.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, maintains, and updates data, reports, and records required by management utilizing Excel, Word and Powerpoint and Visio.
  • Assist in the preparation of various HR and Communications meetings, i.e. performance calibration meetings, New Leaders Assimilations, and Talent Reviews.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of press materials and media events, including conferences, briefings and media tours
  • Initiates and responds to telephone inquiries and email to resolve matters not requiring specific action of the manager.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners on key programs such as Leadership Development & Training, Organizational Development, Change Management, Succession Planning, and Associate Engagement.
  • Assist in analyzing key HR metrics and make recommendations based on trends.
  • Create presentations, build and manage budget spreadsheets, and assist with organizational charts/data.
  • Sets appointments, arranges meetings and maintains manager’s calendar.
  • Serves as the primary partner in managing travel, events, on-site logistics and coordination of meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related field.
  • 0-3 years’ experience in Human Resources as an intern, coordinator, or specialist.
  • Strong HR acumen and communication skills.
  • Works effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to act independently on a variety of complex and challenging situations.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, documentation, and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
