Benefits Design Analyst

The HR Benefits Design Analyst reports directly to the Manager of Benefits Design and assists with developing benefits strategy, including benefits designs, pricing, budgeting and financials.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop financial analyses for all proposed design changes of health and welfare programs.
  • Support the benchmarking of competitiveness of programs, analyze new legislative requirements and trends in health and welfare and retirement programs.
  • Prepare materials for management presentations including the development of a monthly dashboard to report key metrics of benefit plan performance.
  • Assist with vendor selection process, including evaluation of proposals, modification of benefit materials, contracting and integration of new vendors.
  • Ensure that all benefit plans have current documentation, including plan summaries, plan documents, summary plan descriptions, etc.
  • Assist with annual budget, monitor actual costs to budget and work with vendors to reconcile invoices.
  • Develop reports using our claims database to monitor plan performance and to assist with benefit design.
  • Assist with management of and lead special projects as requested to support the overall Benefits team.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or a related field or related work experience
  • 2-4 years Accounting, Finance, Benefits or other Human Resources-related discipline experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to produce results within tight deadlines and demands for information requiring thorough thought, research and analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel required.
