The Associate Technical Designer will provide support to the Sr. Manager of Technical Design as well as execute design, construction and manufacture apparel to provide appropriate fit, quality and style.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Design and product development teams to determine fit and aesthetic details.
  • Provide Senior Manager with appropriate support on design projects.
  • Create and update tech packs in Flex PLM.
  • Attend fit sessions with design and product development.
  • Advise the correct construction of garments within development and production timelines.
  • Communicate fit comments and corrections to International Buying Offices, and factories.
  • Develop a block library to resolve pattern and fit issues.
  • Daily communication and follow through with IBO, vendors, and all cross-functional partners.
  • Help to establish Brand Awareness by identifying categories that need to be reviewed for fit, sizing, and construction improvements.
  • Enhance fit by researching all customer key item fit issues.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • College degree in fine arts or design, or equivalent work experience in a design related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of technical design experience required.
  • Knowledge of construction, patternmaking, and manufacturing process
  • A trained eye for proportion and balance, as well as aesthetic detail
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage/work independently, multitask, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills with an acute attention to detail
  • Proficiency in: Flex PLM, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Outlook and Excel
