The Pricing Analyst will participate in the pricing strategy for defined projects that maximize sales and profit. Creates and publishes dashboards, performing deep dive analyses to provide insight into effectiveness of pricing strategies. Analyzes and provides input to pricing strategies for base pricing. Builds pricing models which support the category business plan as well as align with the overall pricing strategy. Modifies pricing models as needed to ensure all pricing objectives are met. Executes strategic pricing for all categories through the utilization of price modeling tools; competitive price checks, external market share data, and market specific strategic pricing goals. Analyzes modeling outcomes providing insights and suggests potential solutions to issues around sales, margin, elasticity and competitive sets. Maintains a strong link with Pricing Manager ensuring they understand, support and maintain pricing strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Participates in strategic pricing development and implementation

· Develop pricing models and perform quantitative analysis of results

· Assists in refinement of modeling tool development as needed and ensure business rules are working properly

· Provide dashboards that convert market data to useful information. Publish pricing KPI’s to merchandising team

· Provide context and analysis on the drivers of pricing metrics and performance versus enterprise objectives.

· Conduct price elasticity studies. Track and measure incremental sales and margin associates with price changes.

· Analyze the performance of current pricing strategies and make recommendations to optimize pricing rules.

· Ensures consistent price position in every market in line with the enterprise, department and category strategies, reflecting overarching prize zone approach.

· Monitors and provides input to KVI strategies with fact based data.

· Contributes to a culture of excellence and team work.

· Monitors pricing practices to validate strategies and monitor price execution / adherence to rules for both retail and cost changes.

· Provides input as to relevance of zones vs competitive markets.

· Initiates ideas that will ensure the integrity of the data in the various pricing database is as high as possible.

· Participates in review of financials performance of all categories, including pricing scenarios, market share, sales and profit generations.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

Successful candidates will have working knowledge of the above responsibilities coupled with the following requirements:

· 2+ year’s work experience in marketing or pricing analytics; retail or related industry experience a plus.

· Familiarity and proficiency in price optimization software within an R Environment or similar such as SaS, Python, etc.

· Proficient in scripting languages such as SQL Script, JavaScript or similar

· Working knowledge of SQL a plus

· Knowledge of Pricing and Category Management preferred

· Knowledge of retail pricing and/or promotions concepts and methodologies (e.g., econometric modeling, elasticity measurement)

· Undergraduate degree required with a concentration Mathematics, Statistics or Marketing Analytics preferred
