Accounting Analyst - Payable & Recoveries

As the Accounting Analyst, you will support the Accounts Payable and Recoveries department with oversight of the payment processes in our team-oriented hybrid work model. You will produce various reporting and reconciliations as part of the daily activities. In addition, you will work on projects to assist in meeting the company goals and initiatives allowing you to see the direct link of the impact you make for JCPenney. Primary Responsibilities:

• Ownership of Accounts Payable processes including final review and releasing of payments to suppliers
• Communicate with various internal and external customers as needed
• Analyze and resolve complex payment and corporate card issues
• Develops and provides timely delivery of payment information to appropriate management
• Data mining and querying of key data
• Leadership of various Accounts Payable and corporate card tasks and projects
• Recommend and implement actions to reduce business costs
• Perform root cause analysis and streamline processes
• Work cross-functionally with other areas of the company and various levels of management
• Develop and enhance metrics and other reporting as needed

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business or Operations Management, or similar (Preferred)
• 2-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Finance, or related field (Required)
• Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
• Intermediate ability with SQL and other querying tools
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical and decision-making skills
• Intermediate to advanced ability with Microsoft Office Tools, including Excel
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
• Detailed and organized to prioritize work effectively
• Proactive in setting goals and achieving results
• Eager to learn and willing to take on new initiatives
