Senior Engineer - Point-of-Sale (POS)

JCPenney is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help transform our Point-of-Sale customer & associate experience. In this role, your main responsibilities will include POS application development with a focus on building out a Dev Ops / SRE ecosystem while operating in an Agile environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• General Analysis of POS solutions
• Design of POS solutions
• Development of POS solutions
• Develop solution approaches based on business requirements and integration points
• Work directly with other JCPenney IT associates as well as JCPenney business customers to create Dev Ops strategies.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• Familiarity with POS hardware / Software
• Familiarity with Aptos POS software
• Working knowledge of GK POS software
• Work experience in Agile Scrum methodologies
• Experience with JIRA or similar platform
• Java / Open JDK
• Jenkins, Gradle, Git, Bitbucket
• Groovy, Bash, PowerShell, MS Build & Windows Containers
• Docker, Kubernetes
• Linux
• .Net Core

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
• 5 years' experience in a Development Role
• 2 + years in a mentoring / leadership / Senior role within Development team
