Associate / Employee Relations Manager - REMOTE

The Associate Relations Manager works to create an overall high performance and healthy work environment for all associates. Daily investigate complex and high-risk employee complaints and work to effectively resolve cases in compliance with company policy. They also serve as a consultant to HR business partners as a trusted advisor on employee relations. The AR Manager works closely with their peers, the Legal team, HR business partners, and business leaders in making recommendations regarding appropriate action where there is discriminatory conduct, harassment, inappropriate workplace behaviors, or other violation of company policy. Additionally, this role helps review and edit where necessary, policies and procedures related to forming positive associate relations.

The ideal candidate enjoys talking with associates, is skilled at asking the right questions to learn what occurred, juggling multiple assignments, solving complex problems, collaborating with others, and continuously exploring ways to enhance positive associate relations.

The Associate Relations Manager reports to the Associate Relations Senior Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensures fair and equitable treatment of all associates that is consistent with the company's core values and objectives.
  • Promptly and thoroughly conducts timely investigations of high-risk employment concerns within 30-days of complaint received through the company hotline and other intake avenues.
  • Provides recommendations on action to be taken based on investigation findings in partnership with Associate Relations Sr Manager, HR business partners, and Legal.
  • Effectively manages all case information in the case management system daily.
  • Manages cases with well-documented overview of each case and investigation supported. As needed, partner with legal to review findings that may linked to a legal defense.
  • Works with Associate Relations Sr Manager to follow up or assign associate relations matters to field human resources partners as appropriate.
  • Follows up on associate relations matters to ensure that communication to business partners and associates is consistent with JCP expectations.
  • Reviews and administers policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. Takes appropriate action in dual role as associate advocate and management coach.
  • Works with training team to create and deliver positive associate relations training, with a focus on prevention, including traveling to train frontline supervisors

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or related field
  • 4+ years of professional HR experience, including 3+ years employee relations experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable employment laws, policies, procedures, and labor relations
  • Convercent case management experience preferred
  • Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment with deadline driven activity
