The Fabric and Sustainability Sr. Specialist executes seasonal fabric development for the brand.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Executes technical fabric developments to line up with mill strategy
  • Evaluates mill pricing & provides feedback to sourcing
  • Participates in the seasonal trend direction and market intelligence
  • Maintains development charts and master fabric menus, provides to cross functional teams
  • Develop fabrics using sustainable fibers in line with the corporate strategy

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
  • College degree
  • 1-5 years of experience working in fabric development
  • General knowledge of fabric & raw material global costs
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, & interpersonal skills
  • Product Line Management (PLM) system knowledge

General Description

Fabric and Sustainability Manager

The Fabric and Sustainability Manager develops and executes the divisional fabric strategy and defines the divisional matrix of fabric mills.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provides seasonal raw materials direction, strategy and market intelligence
  • Identifies opportunities with shared fabrics
  • Conducts new mill or market research as requested by US Home office
  • Negotiates fabric pricing, lead times & MOQ's as directed by Sourcing
  • Mediates between suppliers and mills over color or quality issues
  • Manages a team of Senior Fabric Merchandisers and Color Specialists
  • Executes technical fabric developments to line up with mill strategy
  • Maintains development charts and master fabric menus, provides to cross functional teams
  • Adheres to Time & Action calendar, ensuring all development and testing deadlines are met
  • Travels domestically and internationally, as needed

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
  • 4-year College degree or equivalent business experience preferred.
  • Ten to fifteen years' experience in fabric sourcing, fabric resource development and fabric construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of: technical fabric construction & manufacturing, mill & supplier resources, fabric and raw material global costs, quality standards and test methods, and trade agreements
  • Manages people and processes
  • Organizes, plans and manages projects
  • Evaluates and makes sound decisions and understands complex issues
  • Product Line Management (PLM) system knowledge
