Marketing Strategy and Insights Analyst

The Market Strategy & Insights Analyst is responsible for collecting and interpreting data, formulating reports, and making recommendations based upon the research findings. This position also measures the effectiveness of marketing programs and strategies while ensuring that marketing research supports the strategic objective of JCPenney. This role will actively collaborate with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Merchandising, Planning, Stores, Digital Merchandising, and Digital Operations to optimize processes and deliver engaging offers and events that will drive sales and corporate initiatives across the enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collect, review and interpret data from a variety of primary and secondary sources
  • Translate analysis into actionable and detailed reports, thus delivering research driven recommendations and strategic guidance
  • Improve the effectiveness of marketing efforts through careful measurement of key metrics; including, but not limited to, Sales, Margin, Traffic, Conversion, Customer Retention, MROI.
  • Track performance to goals and benchmarks using data and identify opportunities for business development across segments of the Company.
  • Monitor and report on trends in consumer and business financial preferences
  • Work cross functionally with Marketing, Digital, Planning, Merchandising and our teams in Bangalore
  • Learns by leveraging experience and past analysis to draw research conclusions

  • Results-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Manages a variety of projects simultaneously and produces high-quality deliverables under tight timelines in a dynamic unstructured environment with supervision
  • Skilled in translating business questions into analytical requirements
  • Experience in packaging and presenting analytical outputs in easy to understand concepts and action items
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of e-commerce marketing, planning and analytics, strategy perferred
  • Bachelors Degree
