Director - Digital Engineering

The Director will provideengineering leadership and technical oversight for front-end customer facing JCP experiences and/or back-end capabilities that support customer facing JCP experiences. This role will be a key player in helping transition JCP Digital Engineering to a product model. As such this role will be part of a four in box group of strategic leaders, product, architecture, customer experience and engineering, that will provide guidance to their product portfolio teams to design and implement their medium to long range strategic plans necessary to further a retail turnaround.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Acts as a champion and change agent in leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain operational efficiencies and provide exceptional internal customer support.
  • Accountability for delivery of outcomes, measured through leading and lagging indicators. The role will focus on understanding and driving value of investment, establishing leading indicator metrics to validate value hypothesis and pivot strategy if/or as needed.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the execution plan for implementation of Digital and shared Enterprise capabilities all the while remaining focused on improving cost effectiveness, service levels, quality, and time to market.
  • Demonstrate the ability to seamlessly navigate and partner with stakeholders and leaders to drive common goals and objectives.
  • Present to Executive Leadership and participate in setting up strategic direction in technology and team goals.
  • Manage team members through performance, coaching and feedback, training and career discussions.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and align team members on project and organization goals and objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional and international teams, multiple portfolios with complex platforms, products and processes to instill best practices and deliver high quality work.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:
  • 10+ years' experience, with 5+ years in leadership role.
  • Ability to lead high- performance global product engineering teams in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment.
  • Ability to lead a team of highly technical software engineering staff and earn trust of team members and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in developing customer facing experiences in the retail Ecommerce domain.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to drive change.
  • Experience in career development and talent management.
  • Experience in agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/SAFE) and project management discipline.

IT Director - Bottom of Funnel Experience, Find more and Mobile Applications
