Job Title: Custom Decorator Consultant
The primary purpose of this position is to sell and perform related assignments necessary to maintain or achieve maximum sales volume and customer service standards in custom decorating and achieve personal sales productivity goals.
This position sells custom decorating merchandise outside of a store in customer?s homes. This is done by exploiting sales potential of assigned leads and develops new leads.
Other activities involved are: taking measurements, preparing order specifications, negotiating contracts with customer, insuring delivery and installation, handling customer complaints, staffing an in-store decorating center, assisting in training of new associates, and exploiting credit programs in closing sales.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing correctly and concisely and to use arithmetic with accuracy and reasonable speed.
Thorough knowledge of color coordination and basic custom decorating techniques.
Ability to utilize direct selling techniques to build and retain a customer following.
